Tri State League was a non-classified organization for the following years: 1884, 1887-1891, 1894; independent from 1904-1906; from 1907 through 1914 Class B; in 1924-24 Class D; from 1946-55, it was Class B.

1887     Akron OH, Canton OH, Columbus OH, Kalamazoo Mi, Mansfiled OH, Sandusky OH, Steubenville OH, Wheeling WV, Zanesville Oh

1888     Jackson MI, Lima OH and Toledo OH entered the league; Akron and Steubenville left the league.

1889     Dayton OH, Hamilton OH, and Springfield OH, entered the league; Columbus, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lima, Sandusky, Toledo and Zanesville left the league.

1890     Akron OH, Mckeesport PA, and Youngstown OH entered the league; Hamilton left the league.

1891     Lima, OH and Sandusky, OH entered the league; Youngstown left the league.

League 2 1904-1914[]

1904     Altoona PA, Camden NJ, Harrisburg PA, Lebanon PA, Williamsport PA, Wilmington DE, York PA

1905     Coatesville PA, Lebanon PA, Lancaster PA and Johnstown Pa entered the league; Camden and Wilmington left the league, During the season, the Coatesville franchise moveed to Reading, PA then to Shamokin, PA. The Lebanon franchise moved to Wilmington DE.

1906     Shamokin and Wilmington left the league.

1907     Trenton, NJ and Wilmington, DE enterd the league. During the season, the York franchise moved to Reading PA.

1908     No teams entered or left the league.

1909     York, Pa entered the league; Wilmington left the league.

1910     No teams entered or left the league.

1911     Wilmington, DE enterd the league; Williamsport left the league

1912     Allentown, PA entered the league; Reading left the league. During the season, the Altoona franchise moved to Reading, Pa., Lancaster moved to Altantic City, NJ and Johnstown moved to Chester, Pa.

1913    Reading and Chester left the league

1914    Reading, PA entered the league; Atlantic City left the league. During the season, the York franchise moved to  Lancaster, Pa.

League 3  1926-1927[]

1926     Blytheville AR, Corinth MS, Dyersburg TN, Jackson MS, Jonesboro, AR and Tupelo Ms

1927     Sheffield-Tuscmbia, AL entered the league; Dyersburg left the league.

League 4 1946--1955[]

1946     Anderson SC, Asheville NC, Charlotte NC, Knoxville TN, Shelby NC, Spartanburg SC

1947     Fayetteville NC, Reidsville NC and Rock Hill SC entered the league; Shelby left the league.

1948     Florence SC entered the league; Reidsville left the league.

1949     Sumter SC entered the league; Fayetteville left the league.

1950     No teams entered or left the league.

1951     Greenville, SC and Greenwood, SC entered the league; Florence and Sumter left the league.

1952     Gastonia, NC entered the league; Greenwood left the league.

1953     Greenville and Knoxville left the league

1954     Greenville, SC and Knoxville, TN entered the league; Charollte and Gastonia left the league.

1955     Anderson and Knoxville left the league.
