[edit] Anyone still here

Is this place ever gonna go away? I do not ask that as a "get rid of this" comment, but rather as a "I'll stay if it'll stay online, I'll leave if it's just gonna go away soon..." comment. Thanks Soxrock 01:05, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Soxrock. This wiki is certainly here to stay. It has a lot of potential to be a great Baseball resource. I hope you'll stay and help! Angela@Wikia (talk) 12:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I was wondering that. I just wasn't about to start working hard on a wiki that may not be around in a while. Now I'll be willing to help out. Soxrock 12:46, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Head's up on a report

Sean Forman of Baseball-Reference.com has told me that MLB game logs (a team's schedule from a certain season) are not copyrighted, but must be in a different format. Therefore, I say we can go ahead with game logs without worry Soxrock 11:57, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big project soon

I will be creating seasonal articles soon here. Feel free to help out Soxrock 04:41, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New Design

I've updated TBW so it looks a lot more modern and fresh and in-line with other wikis on Wikia.com. Please let me know if you like it (or not) and ways it can be improved in the future. I shouldn't be doing this today really as it's my birthday but I've got a spare couple of hours until it's time to get intoxicated. GrimGary 15:59, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] earned run average question.....need help.

to anyone that can help me,

situation:

first batter: 2B second batter: 1B third batter: HBP fourth batter: OUT, INFIELD FLY fifth batter: OUT, STRIKEOUT

sixth batter: catchable ball hit to center, centerfielders ball and second baseman runs into him, ball drops 2 runs score.

question: are these runs earned or unearned?

[edit] New name is terrible

I don't like the new name at all, sounds more like it should be a baseball club for paedophiles. Absolutely terrible. "The Baseball Wiki" was fine. I'd spent a lot of time creating things with "TBW" name and now it looks like all my work was wasted. I don't know why I even bothered with the new redesign I did a couple of months ago. Sorry but as someone has come in and changed everything I did over the past couple of years I will no longer be updating this wiki. Admins and sysops are supposed to confer with each other BEFORE changes take place, this hasn't happened so I'm leaving. GrimGary 15:53, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Are you serious? All your work was wasted because the name was/is changed? You left 2 months ago with no indication that the departure wasn't permanent, someone comes along and tries to help the site out and you throw a hissy fit. Wow. Head admin too ah? Kind of a possessive and just flat out wrong attitude. But whatever. Cheers. KnowledgeIsSelf | talk. 07:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I understand the revert based on the name change, but I liked the new color scheme better, especially with the other menus on wikia. It also seemed more user friendly. Could we some to some sort of consensus? --Youk4MVP 20:58, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Are there any opinions on this?--Youk4MVP 15:56, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I liked the new layout but not the name. I may have overreacted previously, for this I'm sorry. Thanks to everyone who's asked me to come back, you've twisted my arm. Forget what was said in the past, let's all make this wiki the best baseball resource on the net. GrimGary 17:35, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Glad that's over with. So what exactly is the name of this site? It's not baseballpedia. but is it The Baseball Wiki? Baseball Wiki? Baseballwiki? KnowledgeIsSelf | talk. 19:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Gary, nice to see you back, and I'm still sorry if I made you upset. So let's just put that behind us and make this site a great one. :) So anyway, Thoughpig made it "Baseball Wiki", while it used to be "BaseballWiki". But when it was "BaseballWiki", GrimGary made it to "The Baseball Wiki" which technically was wrong because it's not the original site name which was "BaseballWiki". But now it's just "Baseball Wiki" since "BaseballWiki" and "The Baseball Wiki" is rarely searched in Google. Would like opinions on this. If your not sure what the real site name is, just type {{SITENAME}} somewhere. Cheers! -- RyanCross (talk) 20:58, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

If we're all in agreement then, I'll revert to the new color scheme, but change the name and any other baseballpedia references. Glad to see everyone on the same page again :) --Youk4MVP 23:47, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I agree with the new main page design I created. But everyone is free to tweak it of it improves the design. Yeah, and remove wherever it says "baseballpedia". All in favor? -- RyanCross (talk) 23:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I think that when you talk about Baseball in the rest of the world should be corrected and maybe revisit history. See below what was found about baseball in Nicaragua.
