Lake was originally drafted by the Orioles but was purchased by the Brewers in 1978 and then traded to the Cubs on April 1, 1983. He would play for the Cubs, Cardinals, and Phillies during his career. Lake never had more than 179 at-bats in any season but had a great arm throwing out more than 45% of runners on stolen base attempts.
