Speedball
Speedball is a sport similar to baseball, created by Richard Sudaj in 1999 as a soprt specifically for Northwest Elementary (La Salle, IL) 4th and 5th graders. It is said to have the smallest league for any sport, with 2,500 known fans and 640 players in the league's history. Players pick teams and play in a diamond after school.
Rules
Edit
Speedball is very similar to baseball, with only four major differences:
- Instead of trying for first, players must try to cross all four bases. The infielders pass it from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and home (2nd and home if the ball lands in the outfield).
- There is no catcher, the batter throws the ball to the pitcher.
- The ball is hard as a tennis ball, large as a softball.
- The bats are metal.
