North Carolina League was an independent league, 1885, 1901 and 1908 to 1909 and a Class D League,1915* to 1917,  1937 to 1942 and 1945 to 1952 that was based in North Carolina.

1885   Durham, Goldsboro, Henderson, Hudson, Oxford, Raleigh

1901   Charlotte, Raleigh, Tarboro, Wilmington

1908   Charlotte, Durham, Goldsboro, Raleigh, Salisbury, Winston-Salem

1909   Wilmington entered the league; Salisbury left the league.

1913*   Asheville, Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, Raleigh, Winston-Salem

1914*   No teams entered or left the league.

1915   No teams entered or left the league.

1916   No teams entered or left the league.

1917   No teams entered or left the league.

1937   Coolemee, Landis, Lextington, Mooresville, Newton-Conover, Salisbury, Shelby, Thomasville

1938   No teams entered or left the league. During the season Shelby moved to Gastonia.

1939   Concord and Kannapolis entered the league; Newton-Conover and Gastonia left the league.

1940   No Teams enter or left the league.

1941   No teams entered or left the league.

1942   Hickory and Statesville entered the league; Cooleemee and Kannapolis left the league.

1945   Concord, Hockey, Landis, Lexington, Mooresville, Salisbury, Statesville, Thomasville.

1946   No teams entered or left the league.

1947   No teams entered or left the league.

1948   Albermarle and HighPoint-Thomasville entered the league; Landis and Thomasville left the league.

1949   Landis entered the league; Albermarle has left the league.

1950   No teams entered or left the league.

1951   No teams entered or left the league. During the season Landis moved to Elkin.

1952   No teams entered or left the league.
