Boston Red SoxEdit

Head was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 26th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. In 2009, Head played for the Red Sox's rookie league team, in 2010 he played for their A- team, and in 2011 he played for their A and A+ teams.

Oakland AthleticsEdit

On December 28th, 2011, Head was traded to the Oakland Athletics as part of a trade that sent Andrew Bailey to the Red Sox.[1] He started the 2012 season at A+ Stockton and on June 21st, was promoted to the team's AA affiliate, the Midland Rockhounds.

The Athletics released Head after two injury-plagued season in March 2015.[2]
