- 1914 - Jack Dunn offers Babe Ruth, along with Ernie Shore and Ben Egan, to Connie Mack of the Philadelphia Athletics, in exchange for $10,000. Mack refused the offer.

- Jay Payton is designated for assignment by the Boston Red Sox, after becoming disgruntled over lack of playing time.
- The Boston Red Sox acquire Alex Cora from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for Ramon Vazquez.
- 2006 - Troy Glaus, of the Toronto Blue Jays, is selected to participate in the 2006 Home Run Derby.
- 2007 - Erik Bédard strikes out 15 Texas Rangers, matching the Orioles franchise record set by Mike Mussina.
