Eric Lynn Hacker (born March 26, 1983, in Duncanville, Texas) is a Major League Baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Professional careerEdit

Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 23rd round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft, Hacker began his career in the Yankees farm system.[1]

He has played for the Gulf Coast Yankees, Staten Island Yankees, Charleston RiverDogs, Tampa Yankees, Trenton Thunder, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.


On May 9, Hacker was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Brett Tomko. [2]

On May 16, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Rómulo Sánchez. The Pirates assigned Hacker to AAA-Indianapolis Indians. [3] Hacker was named the International League Player of the Week for the week ending August 9.[4]


On December 18, 2009, Hacker signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants.
