The DeKalb County Liners are a member of the summer collegiate Prospect League, playing their home games at Founders Field in Sycamore, Illinois.
DeKalb County ended play in 2011 after just two seasons when the out-of-state owner of the team decided the Liners were no longer profitable. Though competitive on the field and appreciated by avid local baseball fans who spent two nostalgic summers at Founders Field, crowds became sparse at times and reality never quite met ownership expectations. Managed by the Sycamore Park District and located within Sycamore Park on the far east side of town, Founders Field received several structural improvements to make way for the Liners entry into the Prospect League. Team organization and game-day operations at the park were successful because of strong leaders and and numerous volunteers. As of 2016, no baseball club venture has taken the place of the entertainment college players gave the community for two memorable seasons.
